Geoffery Maclean

Growing up in the sugar cane fields of tropical Far North Queensland Geoffrey developed a sense of adventure and imagination in the cultural mixing pot of English, Chinese, Italians, Indians, Aboriginals and Pacific Islanders.

Graduating with a BA from Sydney College of the Arts and an MBA from Macquarie University Geoffrey first worked as a Fashion and Textile Designer in Sydney, then moved to an international marketing career where he was initially based in Hong Kong before the British hand-over to China in 1997, then to Singapore, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Dubai, Cairo and Istanbul. Now based in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales.

“Having lived in such a rich tapestry of cultures my whole life this manifested itself into the multimedia palette I use – pen and Ink, acrylic on canvas, printmaking, screen printed textiles, fashion, ceramics, photography and video.”

“I don’t see an image as much as I feel immersed in a story. My art is strongly influenced by shape, colour and mood.”

“Through art, inspiration lights up our life.”

This 60cm x 60cm acrylic on canvas Byron Bay Lighthouse painting is from my ‘Northern Rivers Roads’ series, based on the spectacular views seen driving around the area.

Welcome to BACCI, a local arts group with an interesting variety of artists and crafters. This makes BACCI an exciting and social community to be involved in. New members are always welcome.

All members have the opportunity to participate in up to three wonderful group exhibitions a year. These are in conjunction with fundraising for charitable community groups.

BACCI is a non-profit organisation for the promotion of arts & crafts in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. BACCI is run by, and for, the group by BACCI volunteers in committee positions.
